Salaam All
All projects have their
beginnings in IDEAS. Then the willingness of parties from all acoss the divides
to want to "work together" - a phrase that is fraught with all kinds
of difficulties (you know the variety: clashing of egos, power, back-stabbing,
gossip...things througout the centuries that have paralyzed/crippled/killed big
& small projects alike).
From a meeting on Monday with Minister Ali who listened and then vouched
to back the project. He then initiated a meeting today with Minister Robert
Persaud. Gathered in the boardroom were the Minister, EPA members, Karen
Persaud and a rep of the govt.... Haseeb Yusuf & Naieem (GIT), Hakeem Khan
(ACIC), Abid Rahat (ModernFX), Shamal Zamaluddin (Zamals). CIOG's rep couldn't
attend due to another meeting.
We delivered a proposal
(put together by the GIT). Please peruse the attached document. We also shared
the Environment brochure & the Let Guyana Glitter sticker.
Orally the govt has
committed to the project. E-Docs from the govt. declaring commitment to the
project will be circulating shortly which would be shared.
Most projects start off
with excitement and MANY people. You know like 50 students in a new class. 3
months into the studies only 15 students are left. Can we all then make a
commitment to stay with the project for at least 1 year. This project is
three-pronged. 1. Cleaning 2. Beautifying 3. Education.
An idea for Mash 2013.
Let's make several billboards with the theme Let Guyana Glitter & Pick
It Up and post them along the route...Thousands will get the message on that
day. It's shocking to see the mess the morning after. It's GROSS. Even at this
late hour a float can have as the theme "Let Guyana Glitter".
Other ideas are welcomed
NOW.
Please read the proposal
and join the effort.
